[WATCH]: PV Performance vs Temperature – Part 3

Rating: 5
This is a test to see how well solar panels perform under different temperatures. It’s mid summer in Cape Town South Africa so I want to see how well a 55 watt amorphous solar panel will do against a 55 watt monocrystalline panel. Temperature probes have been placed behind the panels to compare temperatures when raised and flat on the roof. Equipment used: Fluke 43b power analyzer Fluke 287 / 289 digital logging multimeter Major Tech MT22 digital multimeter WattsUp! power meter Outback Flexmax 60 MPPT solar regulator Setsolar mini grid tie inverter Temperature probe Fluke DC current clamp / probe Variable power supply Wire strippers 12 volt relay, double pole, double throw Spin-off projects: Auxiliary load control / diversion from the Outback Flexmax using a solid state relay. Add solar power to my Fluke 287 / 289 Solar Powered UPS
