I saw an interesting article over the weekend discussing the possible sale/merger of Qwest with one of the smaller rural companies. The possible partners mentioned were Frontier, Windstream and CenturyTel. Qwest is selling it's nationwide fiber optic network and going back to being a phone company. Makes me wonder if the new money available for rural companies to build a high speed network to the country folk has something to do with this. Everyone is lining up to get there share. Maybe I should start a contracting company!
